The international reinsurer SCOR recently chose EQECAT Inc.’s WORLDCATenterprise catastrophe management software for the assessment of catastrophe risks in 88 countries.”SCOR, like many other insurers and reinsurers, has gone through a re-evaluation of catastrophe models after the last two turbulent years of catastrophic event losses,” Rick Clinton, president of EQECAT, says, “we are pleased they concluded that our platform was a valuable resource in their exposure management process.” The EQECAT risk modeling platform will be used to develop a probabilistic framework for managing SCOR’s global catastrophic risk, according to chief risk officer of SCOR Jean-Luc Besson. “EQECAT provides a platform supporting catastrophe analysis for more than 140 of our peril exposures in 88 countries,” Besson says.
