Effective July 1, MacCoy Insurance will become the 22nd location of Archway Insurance, which now covers all of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, Archway said in a press release. “We are ready to serve both existing and new clients on Cape Breton Island through a local office in Sydney,” said Archway Insurance president Gina McFetridge in the release. “We welcome Ritchie MacCoy to our management team, his employees, and MacCoy’s many business and personal clients to Archway Insurance.” The MacCoy office will continue to operate as a new location of Archway with no major changes planned to existing roles and responsibilities for staff, Archway reported. Ritchie MacCoy said in the release that he is “extremely pleased” that his family-owned business of 72 years has joined Archway, another family-run business. “Together, we will continue to serve our clients throughout Cape Breton and mainland Nova Scotia,” he said, adding that “Archway shares the similar values of commitment to employees, clients and the community as MacCoy Insurance. Our clients will continue to be serviced by the same insurance professionals at our same location.” The acquisition of MacCoy brings the total number of Archway locations to 22. Over the past decade, Archway has purchased many brokerages across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, and will continue to focus on growth through new business sales and brokerage purchases. Most recently, in January of this year, Archway purchased Stellarton, N.S.-based D.R. Hayman Insurance, which provides both personal and commercial insurance in Pictou County. Archway Insurance is an Atlantic-owned, independent insurance brokerage headquartered in Amherst, N.S. It offers car, home, business and life insurance. For its part, Sydney-based MacCoy Insurance Brokers offers personal, business and specialty insurance. Canadian Underwriter Save Stroke 1 Print Group 8 Share LI logo
