Sarah Robson will replace Chris Lay as president and CEO of Marsh Canada, the New York City-based commercial brokerage announced Friday.

Robson currently works in New York as managing director in Marsh’s United States business and global relationship manager in Marsh’s Insurer Consulting Group. She is a former specialties leader at Marsh Canada.

Lay was appointed president and CEO of Marsh Canada in 2016. He is a former president of global captive solutions for Marsh.

Marsh intends to name Lay CEO of its United Kingdom and Ireland region, subject to regulatory approval. Lay would move to London, England from Toronto and succeed Marsh UK CEO Mark Weil, who is reportedly leaving Marsh to take up a senior role outside of insurance in the private equity sector.

Robson has worked for Marsh for more than 25 years, beginning her career in Canada as an underwriter at Chubb.

Worldwide, Marsh is led by John Doyle, a former CEO for commercial insurance at American International Group Inc.
