Toronto brokerage RRJ Insurance Group purchases Topping Insurance Brokers; office will remain in Peterborough

Toronto-based RRJ Insurance Group Ltd. has announced the purchase of Peterborough, Ont.-based Topping Insurance Brokers Ltd.

The RRJ Insurance Group said in a press release issued on Thursday that the purchase was effective May 2. The office is located at 169 Aylmer Street North in Peterborough, and will operate under Topping Insurance Brokers, A Division of RRJ Insurance Group Ltd.

RRJ Insurance Group is a multi-line general brokerage comprised of Schofield-Aker Insurance Brokers in Durham Region, Frost Whetter Oaklin Insurance Brokers in Kawartha Lakes, KRG Insurance Brokers in Toronto, Bracebridge, Mississauga and Orillia, Pioneer Insurance Brokers in Kitchener and Topping Insurance Brokers in Peterborough.

Topping Insurance Brokers has a history dating back to 1858 when Canadian Senator George Cox formed the company, the company said on its website. The brokerage represents major insurance companies and provides products and services in both personal and commercial lines.
