Danyluk named broker association CEO

Long-time insurance broker Dan Danyluk has been named the new CEO of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC). The position is newly created, replacing the former executive director’s role at the national association representing property and casualty insurance brokers.Danyluk has been managing director of Crawford & Danyluk Insurance Brokers Ltd. in Delaware, Ontario, for the past 19 years. Prior to that he was a research economist for the Ontario Ministry of Labour and then executive director of Junior Achievement of London, Ontario.Danyluk has been involved as a broker with IBAC for the past 12 years and last year was elected vice president of the board. He is also a past president of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO).Commenting on the appointment, IBAC president Brian Gilbert says, “Dan brings a wealth of talent to the table. He is very well-known and he has terrific contacts already throughout the industry.” Gilbert adds that Danyluk’s appointment will “put a face” on the association within the industry.Danyluk takes over the position immediately on a part-time transitional basis and will assume full-time duties on March 15, 2003.
