A mutual insurer in Alberta has partnered with software provider Mutual Concept Computer Group (MCCG) to “own the pace of their transformation.”

By incorporating MCCG’s Online Quoting Solution, Mennonite Mutual Insurance Co. (Alberta) Ltd. (MMI) will be able to simplify the quoting process for its sales force, creating efficiencies and allowing the mutual insurer to “quickly introduce” new products for policyholders.

MMI has become a member of the MCCG community and commenced their insurance business solution (IBS) implementation project, the software provider said in a release Tuesday. MMI has elected to incorporate the online quoting solution as part of the project to “simplify the quoting process for all key stakeholders.”

Jon Perry, vice president of client relations at MCCG, said this is the first time the software vendor has incorporated an implementation of the IBS, the enterprise back-office platform, and the online quoting solution into a single project.

The mutual insurer has partnered with the software vendor to ‘kick off’ their digital transformation to provide greater benefit to policyholders, volunteer representatives, their insurance advisors and team. “The IBS product will provide MMI with enhanced technology to better service their policyholders and community by creating efficiencies for their team through digital communications and ease of access to all of their data,” the release said. “Joining the MCCG community provides MMI with a continuous path for adoption of web technologies and business analytics, while allowing MMI to own the pace of their transformation.”

MMI CEO and general manager Ken Ritchie added that the mutual insurer has been “enjoying very strong growth over the past number of years due to [its] strategy of expanding [its] territory of operations and the products that we offer our community.”

For Perry, the partnership demonstrates the “new reality” that insurance carriers are looking to provide their consumers and sales force. “When we met the MMI team, we realized there was mutual alignment on customer focus, optimizing process, and making technology easier to self-manage.”

MMI provides property and liability insurance for homes, farms and businesses. Most of its policyholders attend Mennonite churches and various evangelical churches.

MCCG has implemented its fully integrated insurance back office solution in 29 mutual insurance companies across Canada. Established in 1993, it is a wholly owned by Canadian mutual insurers.
