Voll named IBC chief economist

The Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) has named acting chief economist and vice president of policy development Jane Voll to take over the position permanently.Voll had been filling the chief economist role since October 2003 when Paul Kovacs moved over to the Property and Casualty Insurance Compensation Corp. (PACICC). With the IBC since 1993, Voll has worked in the policy area, helping to develop the industry’s stance on a number of issues She has also been active on the disaster mitigation front, advising the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) and as a Canadian delegate to the U.N. “International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction”. Prior to joining IBC, she was an economist for Ontario’s Ministry of Finance.IBC president and CEO Stan Griffin says, “[Voll] embodies the qualities of integrity, leadership and perseverance for which IBC strives as an organization.”
