Matthew Glenville is the new group chief operating officer (COO) of specialist insurance provider CFC.

In the newly created role, he will work to strengthen connections between CFC’s underwriting, technology and business operations teams.

He joins CFC from DWF Law, a global law firm, where he previously held the position of group COO. Prior to this, he was COO and chief technology officer (CTO) of ICE Clear Europe, which provides central counterparty clearing and risk management services.

“This is a hugely important new role within the business as we lay the foundations for continued value creation in CFC’s ambitious plans for long-term growth, and I can’t think of a better person to take on these responsibilities than Matt,” Louise O’Shea, group CEO at CFC said in a release. “He has extensive experience delivering value creation for high-growth, tech-led businesses as well as working in different industry sectors from financial services and tech to law, in both listed and [private-equity]-backed companies.”

Glenville commented: “I’m really looking forward to delivering on the long-term growth plans and making sure that underwriting, technology and business operations work hand-in-hand as we continue to scale.”

Last year, CFC announced the launch of its first on-the-ground Canadian office. Although the insurance provider long operated within Canada, the new office meant to bring the insurance provider closer to its broker partners. At that time, Kate Della Mora was appointed the new CEO of CFC Canada.

CFC offers a wide range of commercial insurance solutions to cover emerging issues and various business classes, including cyber, intellectual property, professional liability, kidnap and ransom, product liability, and terrorism, among others.
