(NYSE: GIB; TSE: GIB.A) announces it has inked a 10-year deal with California-based Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Allianz. The deal, which CGI predicts is worth between US $350 million to US$400 million, would see CGI provide information technology support to FFIC’s 80 locations across the U.S. CGI will also take over the insurer’s Phoenix, Arizona-based data center. This will become CGI’s premier technology center in the U.S. and the transaction involves about 300 FFIC employees joining CGI, the company reports.”Moving forward, with the establishment of a large U.S.-based data center, CGI is even better positioned to win significant U.S.-based outsourcing contracts with extended end-to-end IT service offerings,” says Satish Anan, president of CGI’s US and Asia Pacific operations.
