Crawford to handle Pondimin settlement

Crawford Adjusters Canada has been appointed to administer the class action settlement arising from the use of diet drug Pondimin, the company has announced in a press release. An Ontario Superior Court Justice has approved the appointment, and the process of finalizing the claims administration will begin this week.”While there were 19,000 prescriptions issued in Canada for the Pondimin diet drug, it is expected the class size will be significantly smaller,” predicts Crawford CEO Glenn Gibson. The settlement covers Canadian residents who took the diet drug between 1992 and the fall of 1997.Crawford is also currently handling claims from class action cases including the Walkerton water contamination case and Hepatitis C, as well as the Hamilton Plastimet fire.
