Former Kemper Canada CEO joins ICBC

Judy Maddocks, the former CEO of Kemper Insurance Canada, has been appointed senior vice-president of insurance at the Insurance Corp. of British Columbia (ICBC). The appointment is effective from February 17 of this year.Maddocks replaces John Hancock who retired from ICBC at the end of last year. Maddocks will be responsible for underwriting, competitive insurance, the "Autoplan" broker network, marketing and commercial vehicle insurance at the crown insurer. "ICBC has a new vision and mission statement and a new business strategy to strengthen the business, operate competitively and be more valued by its customers. The turnaround is well underway, but much more remains to be done. I know Judy will make a major contribution to the future of ICBC for the benefit of our customers," says president Nick Geer.
