Hub buys Washington construction specialty broker

Hub International Ltd. has established its 11th “hub”, this time in the Pacific Northwest U.S., with the purchase of Seattle, Washington-based Bush, Cotton & Scott, LLC. The brokerage specializes in general insurance and surety bonding for construction firms in Washington, and is the largest privately-held construction specialist in the Northwest with annual revenues of US$9 million.Bush, Cotton & Scott’s five owners will remain to run the firm, including CEO Steven K. Bush.”Bush, Cotton & Scott gives us meaningful additional strength in a critical industry,” says Hub chairman and CEO Martin P. Hughes.”The BCS acquisition will also expand our cross-border capabilities particularly for the construction sector in Western Canada,” adds Hub chief sales officer Larry Lineker.
