At a recent Insurance Brokers of Durham Region meeting, CARSTAR Canada co-founder Sam Malatesta (pictured) took the opportunity to promote the collision repair chain’s sale of FrightLite glow sticks, in support of The Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Throughout October, CARSTAR franchises and head office employees were out in full force to sell the sticks, which glow in the dark when activated. Not only did all proceeds go to help in the fight against CF, but the sticks are also an important safety device, to make children more visible on Halloween night when accidents are likely to occur, Malatesta says. $15,000 had already been raised though a golf tournament to kick-off the campaign, and the sale of the first 200 FrightLites.
