No official estimate of insured losses resulting from the flooding has been released yet. Although water levels are now in abatement, the flooding caused damage to 200 roadways in the province with about 47 bridges destroyed. The adjuster estimates that repair work to the roads and bridges will cost at least $12 million. “Our management team in Nova Scotia is working closely with our national catastrophe team in head-office to monitor claims volumes and coordinate our response. Claim assignments are currently being handled with local staff, however, we are prepared to respond to any increase in volumes with additional resources throughout the region and from across Canada that have been put on standby,” says Crawford CEO Glenn Gibson.
