After 34 years with Lindsey Morden, CEO Kenneth Polley has announced his intention to retire from that position. Polley will remain as chairman, while Francis Chou, a director of the corporation and vice president of Fairfax Financial Holdings will act as interim CEO.

Queensway Financial Holdings Limited has announced the resignation of director Keith Henry.

Mike Lowthian of Adjusters Canada has decided to take early retirement effective March 31. Lowthian spent 35 years in the insurance industry, including being president of Lowthian, Sharoun Insurance Adjusters, which later joined Adjusters Canada, and several posts with the Canadian Independent Adjusters Conference.

ACE Ltd. has announced the promotion of Christopher Z. Marshall to assistant to the chairman. Marshall was formerly CFO of ACE, a position he held since the company’s formation 15 years ago, and a search is now on for his successor in that role.

Thomas D. Levy, senior vice president and chief actuary of The Segal Company, has relocated from the company’s Washington, D.C. office to its Toronto location. He has been with the actuarial and consulting firm for over 30 years.

Swiss Reinsurance Company of Canada has announced several appointments, including Brian Gray as president and CEO, Al Parro as vice president, Glenn McGillivray and Rob Mittertreiner as assistant vice presidents, and Raymond Chong and Vidas Prasauskas as assistant secretaries. Former chief agent for Canada Patrick Mailloux has been named executive vice president of U.S. Direct, Swiss Re’s American non-brokered reinsurance arm. And Alan Beacock has been named a director at Swiss Re New Markets, aviation department, in the company’s Zurich office.
