Hannover Re has announced the appointment of Dr. Detlef Steiner to the Executive Board at Hannover Re for the North American market, for worldwide facultative reinsurance and claims. Until 1998, Steiner was a member of the Corporate Executive Board at the Zurich Insurance Group.

The Property and Casualty Insurance Compensation Corporation has appointed Alex Kennedy to the position of president. Kennedy has previously served for 27 years on the board of the Insurance Bureau of Canada.

SCORE has announced the opening of an office in Moscow, reaffirming its development strategy in Central and Eastern Europe. The Moscow office will be headed by Dimitri Blagoutine.

The Insurance Council of Canada (ICC) has appointed Diane Strashok as Chair of the Board. Strashok, president of Peace Hills General Insurance Company, has been a member of ICC’s board for four years.

Canadian Litigation Counsel has announced that Huestis Ritch has joined the affiliation as its Nova Scotia representative. Huestis Ritch is composed of eleven lawyers all of whom specialize in the practice of insurance law.
