The IBC has been pursuing an aggressive insurance privatization drive across the provinces for some time. According to Anderson, research compiled by research agency, Pollara, shows that 51% of consumers in B.C. believe ICBC should be privatized and 87% believe auto insurance should be sold in an openly competitive marketplace.
