Royal & SunAlliance Insurance Co. of Canada says it will not stand by as an imposter entity continues to use the insurer’s corporate name to market what would appear to be fraudulent insurance products.Royal has launched an official investigation into an entity called "Royal and Sun Alliance" which has been advertising its services through newspapers and over the Internet in Canada and the U.S. "Products being offered by this group include auto and ‘gap’ insurance. The advertising includes telephone numbers and addresses in or near Toronto, Canada," a Royal statement says. The insurer is working with the Canadian financial services regulators and the police in tracking those behind the imposter entity.
