In fact, theft claims costs for the Impreza were 16-times higher than average. Also rounding out the top three for the second year in a row were the Ford F350 Super Duty 4WD, and the Cadillac Escalade 4DR 4WD, in terms of both theft frequency and cost. The IBC notes that none of the top three are standard equipped with approved anti-theft immobilizer devices (the Escalade has an immobilizer, but it is not approved by the IBC).The list is released concurrently with the issuance of the IBC’s annual “How Cars Measure Up” publication, which gives drivers information on theft and claim statistics by vehicle.Getting the “thumbs up” for lowest theft frequency and costs are the Mercury Grand Marquis 4DR, Buick LeSabre and Century 4DR, and Ford Taurus Wagon.
