Arch officially enters Canadian market

Arch Insurance Group has entered the Canadian market with the launch of branch office Arch Insurance (Canada). The official announcement was made today at the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) Conference in Philadelphia.Arch Canada will offer a range of commercial property & casualty and specialty insurance products, marketed through brokers and wholesalers, including property, marine, energy, aviation, casualty, national accounts, construction and surety, and corporate directors’ and officers’ (D&O). Arch Insurance (Canada) based in Toronto is already fully operational, covering all provinces and is headed up by Sheldon Rankin as CEO & chief Aagent. Rankin is former chairman of Marsh Canada.Other hirings for the 12-member Toronto office staff include regional vice presidents Henry Ulozas (property), Jennifer Devereaux (casualty) and Peter Talachek (executive assurance).But Arch plans to expand the staff to 20 by the end of the year. Arch Insurance Group is the insurance division of Bermuda-based Arch Capital Group Ltd.
