Wyseman is a twenty-five year veteran of the risk management profession. The board of Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Group plc has appointed Robert John Gunn to its board as an executive director. Gunn has been chief executive officer of Royal & SunAlliance Canada since 1990 and was appointed Group Director, Americas of Royal & SunAlliance in February of 1998. Swiss Re has set up a service company in Tokyo. The Japanese registered company is called Swiss Re Services Co. Ltd., a member of the Swiss Re Group, and began operations on the first of July. Brenda Buckingham has been promoted to second vice president and director of Canadian markets for Lincoln National Reinsurance Companies. Buckingham has held several key underwriting and account management positions since joining the company in 1989, and has served as Lincoln Re’s chief agent in Canada since 1996. The property & casualty insurance industry raised nearly $300,000 for The Shirley A. Brown Memorial Research Chair, according to Kemper Canada, which co-ordinated a recent rooftop sit-in to raise funds. The insurer has issued a release thanking many corporate contributors to the fund, and particularly thanks Eileen Greene and the staff of KRG Brokers for completing a marathon on May 9 and contributing their winnings.
