After 36 years of service, Chris Robey has retired from Aon Re Canada, an event marked with a reception in late June. Groupe Promutuel has named Adrien Viens as its new president, following the departure of former president Mario Fortier for health reasons. Viens is president of Promutuel Gaspesie – les Iles since 1998, and sits of the board of Groupe Promutuel, Promutuel Capital trust company, and Promutuel Guarantee Fund.

Kingsway Financial Services has promoted Claude Smith to the role of vice president and chief information officer. Smith has been with the company four years, and most recently held the same titles with subsidiary Kingsway General Insurance. Kingsway Financial has also named Andrew Wright as assistant vice president, reinsurance and risk management. Wright is a 20 year veteran of the insurance industry, and replaces Simon Argent who has accepted a position overseas with a global reinsurance company.

Hub International’s TOS Insurance Services Ltd. has named Tina Osen as president and COO. Osen has been with the Burnaby, B.C.-based broker since 1991, and replaces Larry Lineker, who has been promoted to chief sales officer of Hub International.

Anthony Clark International Insurance Brokers has named Patti Runnalls to its board of directors. She is a chartered accountant and controller for Onyx Energy Inc.

Clients of Lawrie Savage and Associates can now access the services of lawyer and international auto reform pioneer Shelley L. Miller. Miller is a partner at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP.

This year’s recipients of the John E. Lowes Insurance Education Fund scholarships are Amanda Borden of Hamilton, Rebecca Feagan of Goderich, and Justin Field of Waterloo, announces the fund’s chair, Paul Martin. The fund assists Ontario students enrolled in a full-time, post-secondary program which includes p&c insurance. The three students are enrolled at Mohawk College, Fanshawe College and Wilfrid Laurier University, respectively.

Applied Systems Canada and World Access Canada have teamed up to provide brokers with access to World’s travel insurance products through a “members only” portal. Users of TAM 7.1.0 version or higher can access the products through Applied’s XML toolkit, Applied ConneXion. World Access Canada is the Waterloo, ON-based member of Mondial Assistance Group, the world’s largest travel insurance provider.
