Royal & SunAlliance Insurance Co. of Canada has named Rowan Saunders as vice president, personal insurance. Saunders has been with Royal & SunAlliance for 15 years, most recently as president of Agilon Financial.

The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations announces the departure of president Klaas Westera. Interim general manager is Marhsall Lee, director of portal operations, until a permanent replacement is named.

Pilot Insurance Company has removed CEO Stu Kistruck, vice president of finance Colin Simpson and assistant vice president of claims George Hamilton as a result of prior year reserving shortfalls. New CEO is Jim Hewitt, a vice president of CGU Group Canada, with Norm McIntyre, current senior vice president and corporate secretary at CGU becoming new senior vice president and CFO of Pilot.

The Risk & Insurance Management Society (RIMS) has named Nancy Chambers (at left, with RIMS president Lance Ewing) as first vice president. Chambers is currently risk manager with the Waterloo Region Municipalities Insurance Pool.

Alea Canada has promoted Wendy McCowan to the position of assistant vice president, treaty underwriting at its Toronto-based Canadian branch. She has 27 years of industry experience, and joined Alea Canada in 2000.
