Frederick was previously executive vice president and chief operating officer of ClaimsPro. Betteridge is now chief operating officer of ClaimPro’s parent company, SCM Insurance Services Inc.

Betteridge joined ClaimsPro in 2015. His previous employers include Travelers Canada and Aviva Canada, where he held a variety of senior roles with both companies. When he was appointed president of ClaimsPro, Betteridge replaced Bob Fitzgerald, who was promoted to CEO of SCM.

Before joining ClaimsPro in 2013, Frederick worked for Cunningham Lindsey Canada, with the most recent title of senior vice president and executive director. As president of ClaimsPro, Frederick will be responsible for the strategic direction of all aspects of the company.

SCM’s other subsidiaries include Xpera Risk Mitigation & Investigation, SCM Health Solutions, Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences, SCM Risk Management Services (RMS), Opta Information Intelligence and International Programs Group (IPG). Reporting directly to SCM’s CEO Bob Fitzgerald, Betteridge will have accountability for overseeing the strategic direction of all of SCM’s subsidiary operations with the exception of Opta.

According to the company, the creation of SCM’s new COO position was driven by the core belief that the company can provide enhanced and seamless delivery of services to clients through improved coordination of the SCM subsidiaries’ offerings with the claims operations of Canada’s insurance industry.

The property and casualty business of Granite Global Solutions was acquired in 2014 by SCM Insurance Services Inc.

Included in that acquisition was Granite Health Solutions, CKR Global and Rochon Engineering (now known as Pario).
