SCM Insurance Services expands into U.S. with new Chicago office, appointment of U.S. COO

SCM Insurance Services announced Wednesday that it has opened a Chicago office, appointing former Hub International executive Scott Goodreau as chief operating officer-USA.

SCM described Goodreau’s appointment as the “first step” towards taking its services to the United States.

“Initially our focus will be targeted at two fronts: third party administration and claims adjusting services,” SCM chief executive officer Bob Fitzgerald stated in a release.

Goodreau previously led sales and marketing for Chicago-based Hub International, a global insurance brokerage providing property, casualty, risk management, life and health, employee benefits, investment and wealth management products and services. HUB International was formed with the merger of 11 privately held Canadian insurance brokerages in 1998.

“The U.S. market and our cross-border clients will truly benefit from the extensive suite of services that SCM has to offer,” said Goodreau.

Goodreau also held positions of super regional president and chief legal officer while at Hub.

SCM’s operations include independent adjusting firm ClaimsPro Inc.

SCM’s other subsidiaries include Xpera Risk Mitigation & Investigation, SCM Health Solutions, Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences, SCM Risk Management Services (RMS), Opta Information Intelligence and International Programs Group (IPG).

“With many of our clients conducting business on both sides of the border, this expansion meets our clients’ needs while aligning to SCM’s long-term strategy,” SCM stated.

SCM Insurance Services is a privately owned company with more than 200 locations and 2,600 employees.
