Albert Poon has been appointed vice president, strategic business development, at Cunningham Lindsey Canada Ltd. Poon will lead the marketing and sales team and provide strategic direction for the promotion of claims solutions within the Canadian insurance and risk management industries. He will maintain his role as vice president of the claims management services division, as well. Poon joined the company in January 2007, bringing with him more than 17 years of insurance industry experience.

Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc. has donated US$150,000 to the Walter Reid Society the private auxiliary support organization for Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC). The gift will be used for assistance grants to soldiers and families of soldiers receiving treatment at WRAMC for wounds sustained in Iraq, Afghanistan and related operations. Colleagues at Sedwick CMS raised roughly half the amount and the company matched the contribution, according to a company release. The Walter Reed Society performs outstanding and compassionate service through its efforts to ease family burdens and speed healing for men and women of our military who have made great sacrifices in the line of duty, David A. North, president and CEO of Sedgwick CMS, said in the release. I believe the people of Sedgwick CMS relate so strongly to this mission because, as a provider of disability and workers’ compensation services for ill and injured civilian employees, we are concerned with similar objectives. It is truly our privilege to support our friends, family members and fellow citizens in the armed services through today’s gift.
