Conestoga Chapter – Insurance Institute of Ontario is pleased to offer students, new to the Insurance Industry, an intense two week (10 days) Agent (Other than Life) and Broker (Entry Level 1- “Acting Under Supervision”) program. The program is designed to prepare students for the Agent and Broker exam. Participants will benefit from these learnings: Day 1: Introducing the insurance business, the law and insurance, insurance contracts, insurance intermediaries Day 2: The insurance company (the insurer), Government control, insurance organizations/associations, Insurance documents, common clauses and insurance practices Day 3: Fire insurance – The Homeowner’s Policy Day 4: Other personal lines – Liability Insurance Day 5: Practice mid-term exam ( does not count towards final mark) , take up mid-term exam and review mark results Day 6 and 7: Automobile Insurance (2 days) Day 8: Morning: commercial Insurance – Afternoon: for the Broker (RIBO) candidates: RIBO and Travel Insurance and for the Agent (OTL) Candidates: study/review period Day 9: Claims and loss adjustments, re-insurance, risk management/loss prevention Day 10: Practice exam (does not count towards final mark), take up practice exam and review mark results Small to medium classes allow the instructors to provided our students with excellent instruction and exam results!!
