Applied Systems announces Epic 7 – the first time the Epic system will enter the Canadian market

University Park, Ill. – June 12, 2012 – Insurance software company Applied Systems announced it will release Epic® 7, the upcoming version of the insurance industry’s fastest-growing agency and brokerage management system, in the first quarter of 2013.

The release of Epic 7 marks the first time the Epic system will enter the Canadian market. Applied Systems reports that in less than three years in the U.S. market, Epic has been selected by more than 500 agencies and over 17,000 users. Epic’s Microsoft® .NET architecture provides the industry’s only single-system platform, scalable enough to meet a wide variety of needs from mid-sized agencies and brokerages up to the largest enterprise-level organizations. The application’s modern and intuitive interface, based on best-practice workflows, is designed to allow users to streamline business operations.

Applied Systems plans for Epic 7 to enter controlled release for early adopters in the first quarter of next year, with general release in the second quarter. The company said Epic 7 will provide enhanced accounting, additional workflow functionality, new reporting capabilities and ACORD form updates.

In addition, Epic 7 will provide enhanced capabilities for the Canadian market, particularly for Ontario and Alberta. The system will provide support for international addressing, Canada-unique accounting capabilities and language features that provide for document distribution in an insured’s native language. The upcoming release will support Canada’s Centre for Studies in Insurance Operations (CSIO) interface and electronic documents, and it will seamlessly integrate with Compu-Quote, Canada’s leader in comparative insurance rating solutions. In late May, Applied Systems acquired Compu-Quote, creating Canada’s largest insurance software organization.
