Brian D. King promoted by Granite Global Solutions to Chair of CKR Global

Ryan Clark, Chairman of the Board, and Murray Wallace, CEO of Granite Global Solutions are pleased to announce the appointment of Brian D. King, Chair of CKR Global to an expanded role in the group.

In order to increase the prominence of the CKR Global brand in the Canadian marketplace and to guide the Board of GGS in the development of Enterprise Risk Management for the group of companies, Brian King is being appointed as Chairman of CKR Global with an emphasis on markets and external audiences and as a Special Advisor to the Board of GGS on risk matters.

“It is the sense of the Board and senior leadership that the national enterprise that is CKR Global can benefit from a higher concentration of top end client interface and public affairs activities – to raise our brand awareness in the marketplace”, said Murray Wallace. “Brian is a star in all aspects of risk solutions, but it is important to raise awareness that CKR Global offers the highest measured quality of service in all its lines of business – and it is important to have someone with his credibility to lead these efforts.”

While Rob Burns will continue as CEO of CKR Global and focus his efforts on the internal management of the business, Brian as Chair of CKR Global as well as Rob will continue to collaborate on key decisions that are naturally shared by a CEO and a Chairman including strategy development and execution, organizational design, and top level hiring decisions.

In addition to his CKR Global role, Brian will act as an advisor to the Board of Directors of GGS on risk matters more broadly. “One of the most important aspects of any organization today is to ensure that the activities we engage in fit the risk appetite of the group. This is particularly important for a company like GGS with its various business divisions that have responsibilities to customers, regulators, shareholders and other stakeholders.” said Mr. Clark. “We have been working on ensuring the proper protocols are in place but we need a more comprehensive approach to this which encompasses all aspects of risk – and we have an acknowledged global expert in Brian King – so this is a key opportunity for us going forward.”
