Burns & Wilcox Canada Offers Contractors Design and Build Coverage

Products specifically for contractors building and designing new structures

Toronto, ON [September 17, 2013] – Burns & Wilcox Canada has announced the introduction of its Contractors Design and Build coverage, a product designed specifically for contractors developing new structures. The program includes professional liability coverage that protects contractors from claims resulting from defective designs. 

“Design flaws and defects impact even the most skilled contractors and it is essential that these risks are effectively managed,” said Gary Hirst, National Director, Burns & Wilcox Canada. “It’s important that the business they worked hard to build isn’t threatened by this liability.”

Contractors Design and Build coverage is available to general contractors, artisan contractors, and design and build firms. Burns & Wilcox Canada offers primary liability limits of up to $10 million. Premiums start at just $750 for a $1 million limit with a $2,500 deductible. The coverage protects the prime contractor or design professional from defective design performed by staff or other contracted workers.
