Burns & Wilcox Canada Strengthens Professional Liability Offering with New Hire

Maia Espejo joins as Senior Professional Liability Manager

Toronto, ON – Burns & Wilcox Canada today announced Maia Espejo has joined its Toronto office as a Senior Professional Liability Manager, supporting the growth and expansion of the company’s Professional Liability Centre of Excellence.

Ms. Espejo joins Burns & Wilcox Canada from Creechurch International Underwriters where she served for three years as Senior Underwriter, Management Liability. In this role she was responsible for the firm’s management liability book including Directors’ and Officers’ Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Crime/Fidelity Insurance, and Kidnap and Ransom Insurance. She also managed relationships with brokers to identify opportunities for growth.

Prior to joining Creechurch International Underwriters, Ms. Espejo worked for seven years at Travelers Canada, where she worked her way up from Underwriting Support Specialist to Corporate Management Liability Underwriter.

Ms. Espejo holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from York University, completing its three-year management program and majoring in Accounting and Finance. She is also fluent in Cantonese.
