The CCIF Toronto Cars & Technology Showcase on January 28th and 29th, 2016 will be the largest CCIF meeting in history.  Tickets are already over 50% sold out.  In addition to the showcase area that will feature the latest vehicles, cutting edge tools, equipment and technology and a great networking opportunity, there will be  a full-day of speakers who will deliver information that collision repair industry stakeholders won’t want to miss.  CCIF has started to announce speakers for the event.  Here are the first few, and more will follow soon:

Mike Anderson, Collision AdviceJoin Mike Anderson , owner of  Collision Advice as he shares with Shops, Insurers, Technicians and OEM’S as to how all of our destinies are tied together. We all play a vital role in ensuring that vehicles are repaired properly. The need to adapt to the speed of change in automotive technology has never been greater.  Mike will provide attendees with an in-depth look at what OE’s are doing, and the need for training and equipment to keep pace.  He will share important information about diagnostics and ensuring that not only do technicians have the right information to properly repair vehicles but how to discover that information thru the use of technology in the most efficient manner possible. Mike will also looks at trends in OE certification and shop classification, and the emerging requirement to identify if shops are in fact qualified to repair vehicles. As well as why we are and will continue to see MORE OEM involvement in the Collision Repair Industry.

Its members provide 90% of the home, business and automobile insurance coverage available to Canadians. IBC takes an active role in championing issues that affect insurance consumers, and helps educate them on how to protect their homes, cars and businesses.

IBC’s Pete Karageorgos, Director, Consumer & Industry Relations, Ontario, will discuss IBC’s advocacy work on the municipal bylaws and provincial regulations that protect consumers at the scene of a collision. He will also address IBC’s research on vehicle towing and storage.

Repair of vehicles with extensive use of aluminum is not difficult, it’s different—and has several advantages. Jim will discuss advances in multi-material vehicle designs and their intersection with the repair process. Topics including joining, corrosion and dust management will be addressed as well as key training considerations for body shop owners to ensure a successful transition to aluminum vehicle repair.
