he main objective of the lecture is to present the climate change risk to municipal infrastructure in the City of London. An original methodology has been developed for the assessment of the climate change risk to municipal infrastructure. Previous climate change impact studies identified more frequent and severe flooding as the main potential impact of climate change in the region. Quantitative and qualitative analyses result in (a) risk to infrastructure which is obtained for each infrastructure element affected and (b) represented spatially. The study outputs include detailed risk maps that form the basis for prioritization of climate change adaptation measures. The application of proposed methodology provides for policy development, decision making and emergency management, preparedness and planning. Dr. Simonovic is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Western Ontario. He is also the Director of Engineering Studies at ICLR. When: Friday, October 15, 2010, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Where: ICLR, 20 Richmond Street East, Suite 210 RSVP: Tracy Waddington
