Elliott Special Risks adds Sean Valles and Darren Rampersad to the Underwriting team

 

 

 

Elliott Special Risks is pleased to announce the following additons to its Underwriting Team:

Sean Valles, FCIP, Hon. BA:

Sean joins ESR as Underwriter within our Commercial Liability department in Toronto. He has eight years of P&C industry experience excelling both within the carrier and MGA environment having held various roles within underwriting and sales. Sean holds the FCIP designation and received a Hon. BA from the University of Toronto. He will be responsible for underwriting Biomedical Life Science, Sports, Leisure & Recreation, Security & Protection Liability, as well as, General Liability for hard to place risks.

Darren Rampersad, FCIP, CRM, Hon. BSc:

Darren joins ESR as Senior Underwriter within our Commercial Liability department in Toronto. With twelve years of P&C industry experience, he has held a variety of roles including claims, underwriting, business development and business analyst. Most recently he was in a national role for Canada’s second largest commercial insurer, developing technical underwriting guidelines to improve risk selection, technical pricing and financial performance, along with development of new commercial casualty and property product wordings. 

He holds the FCIP and CRM designations and received a Hon. BSc from the University of Toronto.  Darren currently sits on the Board of Directors in the role of communications director for the Property Casualty Underwriters Club (PCUC). He will be underwriting a variety of GL products with a focus on manufacturers, exporters and non-standard risks, with a strong emphasis on marketing, as well as assisting on a number of strategic initiatives.
