ENCON Group Inc. Announces Higher Limits and Excess Capability Under Commercial Umbrella Liability

OTTAWA, ON – June 4, 2015 – ENCON Group Inc., a leading managing general agent in Canada, announced today the introduction of the following key enhancements to their Commercial Umbrella Liability product offering:

1)      ENCON can now write excess Umbrella liability over other insurers’ primary and excess Umbrella forms.

2)      The maximum available limit under Commercial Umbrella Liability has increased from $10,000,000 to $20,000,000.

“These enhancements respond to a growing need for expanded Umbrella liability coverage in Canada,” said Michael Ostrowski, Senior Vice-President, Alternative Insurance Market, ENCON. “Even when a company has general liability policies in place, potential coverage gaps may exist, which could lead to large financial losses in the event of a lawsuit. We’ve developed our Umbrella coverage to complement many of our existing specialty insurance solutions while also supporting other businesses on a stand-alone basis.”

ENCON’s Commercial Umbrella Liability insurance offers stand-alone coverage where ENCON does not already provide the Commercial General Liability (CGL). Primary and excess coverage is also available to most classes of ENCON’s policyholders (not including professional liability).

Program Highlights

  • Minimum annual premiums start at $1,000, if ENCON also underwrites the CGL, or $2,500 if not. The minimum premium for an excess Umbrella policy is $2,500.
