First General Sudbury Receives Fire Safety Award from the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council

TORONTO, July 2015 – First General – Sudbury recently received the Fire Safety Award from the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council at a ceremony on June 16, 2015 in Toronto. The annual Fire Safety Awards recognize outstanding contributions to fire protection and prevention in Ontario.

First General is a restoration and general contracting business in Sudbury. For the past three years, First General has supported the Greater Sudbury Fire Services by contributing over forty thousand dollars toward the department’s PSA campaign with CTV.

This successful partnership has resulted in critical fire safety PSAs being broadcast into the homes of thousands of residents across northern Ontario, in communities such as Sudbury, Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie and North Bay.

In addition to the financial support, First General – Sudbury has also helped to secure the approval of some of their restoration clients to allow their homes to be filmed. The grim reality of actual fire, smoke and water damage greatly enhances the impact of the PSAs and drives home the message about the importance of fire prevention.
