Nearly two weeks after historic wildfires emptied the town of Slave Lake, 7,000 evacuees began returning last Friday morning in a major step toward rebuilding the community.

As a part of their commitment to helping the residents of Slave Lake rebuild their lives FirstOnSite Restoration has set up a 10 acre camp just outside of town. The Command Center is complete with power, running water and wireless internet and is also acting as temporary living accommodations for crews. The national restoration company has responded to the local tragedy by mobilizing national resources and is sending manpower, equipment, supplies and vehicles to the area as needed.

In addition to mobilizing resources, FirstOnSite has also been hiring locally and will continue to do so as needs are identified. They are giving priority to local people who may have lost their jobs as a result of this tragedy.
