Toronto, ON – December 23, 2013 – After a weekend-long ice storm that worked its way through the Greater Toronto Area, Granite Claims’ GTA and Eastern Ontario offices, Catastrophe Team, and 24/7 Call Centre have been placed on alert for an expected surge in claims.

Granite’s four GTA offices, located in South Mississauga, North Mississauga, Markham, and Downtown Toronto, are fully staffed with highly-skilled adjusters who are prepared to handle all property and infrastructure claims. Additionally, the Hamilton, Kitchener/Waterloo, Newmarket, Barrie, Peterborough, Ajax, Kingston, and Ottawa branches have been placed on standby.

Locations in Quebec and Maritime provinces have also been placed on standby as the system has worked its way to the east, causing more power outages and damage from freezing rain and strong winds. Our Regional Leaders and Branch Managers are monitoring the situation closely.

Ivan Brosbell, Granite’s National Property Manager and Catastrophe Team Leader, has been working with the regional Branch Managers and Call Centre Staff to ensure all systems are fully functional and the team can handle any influx of claims. All of Granite’s offices were unaffected by the storm and have been receiving claims throughout the weekend.
