Granite Claims Solutions has mobilized their International Catastrophe Team to work in tandem with our VRS partners in the US on the losses resulting from Hurricane Sandy.

“The severity of damage caused so far by Hurricane Sandy is likely a fraction of the overall effect,” says Ivan Brosbell, CAT Team Leader for Granite Claims Solutions. “As power is restored and people gain access back into flooded areas, the true extent of the damage will be realized. VRS has anticipated widespread losses.”

“We have over 25 years of experience handling catastrophes internationally,” says Brosbell, “and while this is one of the largest storms in recent memory, our team is prepared and ready to assist our clients during this challenging time.”

In Canada, Granite Claims Solutions’ Domestic CAT Team is still on 24-hour standby to handle any surge in claims volume that may result from the weather associated with the Hurricane. Every member of the team is a fully-licensed adjuster and has significant catastrophe experience, in particular claims relating to high winds and flooding.

In addition to the Catastrophe Team, Granite has an extensive network of Property Adjusters throughout Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada who are currently handling claims resulting from the recent weather and ready to respond at a moment’s notice.

Says Brosbell, “Our response will be swift and effective, and Granite will handle all claims with the same care and approach to quality as we do for all our claims. Our 24/7 Emergency Call Centre has been briefed in advance of the storm and is ready to respond quickly to this event.”
