Gregory Knowles Receives the CIP Societys Greater Toronto Area Fellow of Distinction Award

TORONTO – The Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP)  Society, a division of The Insurance Institute of Canada, announced on December 9 that J. Gregory Knowles, vice president of sales and producer management at CNA Canada received the 2014 Greater Toronto Area Fellow of Distinction Award.

The award recognizes outstanding achievement in the insurance industry in Toronto and is presented annually to individuals with Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designations. Colleagues nominate insurance professionals for the award, and a nominating review committee makes the final selections.

“Greg takes responsibility and accountability seriously, and demonstrates a highly collaborative leadership style,” said Gary Owcar, president and chief operating officer, CNA Canada, “His ethics are beyond reproach and he demonstrates an ability to negotiate with strong business skills and fairness.”

Gregory KnowlesGreg has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, beginning in the commercial underwriting department of Chubb Insurance in 1992.  He joined CNA Canada as an underwriting manager in 1998. He played an integral role in establishing the Calgary branch office, and was promoted to branch manager of the Montreal office in 2003. In July 2007, Greg moved to the Toronto head office to expand CNA Canada’s products, brand and positioning, focusing on market growth, retention opportunities and the ongoing development of broker distribution partnerships.
