Just like Insurance, the First Save is the Biggest One

TORONTO, Ontario. The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO), the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) and the Northern Ontario Hockey Association (NOHA) are pleased to announce that sixty sets of goalie equipment will be distributed to minor hockey associations across the province as part of the IBAO Goalie Assist Program.

“IBAO is so proud to support the OMHA and NOHA and sponsor this great initiative once again,” said IBAO CEO Randy Carroll. “Brokers are connected to the people in their communities and this donation is just a small example of the great work being done every day to give back.”

The IBAO Goalie Assist Program is an effort to support children who have dreams of becoming a hockey goaltender by providing a set of goaltending equipment to 57 year old players interested in trying the position. In addition, IBAO will provide minor hockey associations with goaltending resources to aid coaches.

“I’d like to thank the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario for helping our associations and young players who want to take up the position of goaltender,” says NOHA President Andrew Macdonald. “This program allows them the opportunity to test the position without the cost being put on the parents. We are grateful for the donation from our partners at the IBAO.”

“I think that I can speak for all of the OMHA and its young participants in saying how appreciative we are being part of the IBAO Goalie Assist Program,” said Rob Ring, President of OMHA.  “By providing much needed goalie equipment, the IBAO Goalie Assist Program will allow 40 of our youngest hockey players to take the first step in achieving their dream of becoming a goaltender. This program will also help the local Minor Hockey Associations by providing them with goaltender resources to assist their coaches and in providing these young goalies with the best coaching available. This program can only be viewed as a win win for everyone.”

The goalie kits will be available for pick up at local brokerages around the province during the month of October. Local media outlets will be invited to special photo op events to capture the donation.
