In Miami on October 30th, 2011, the IRONMAN 70.3 commenced. The IRONMAN 70.3 is an esteemed triathlon which involves a 1.9km swim in the ocean, 90km of cycling, followed by a 21.1km run to the finish line. This is not a mission that just any person takes on. It involves focus, intensive strength training, endurance building, drive and determination. There were 3,500 athletes participating from all around the world all striving and driven to win.
The traits that make Stéphane Giroux successful and contribute to the success of PDS of Montreal are the same traits he utilized when competing in the IRONMAN 70.3 and separated him from the other participants. After 5 hours and 26 minutes, he gracefully crossed the finish line awarded with first place Canadian in his age group (45-49 and the above age groups).
