Entering the ballroom at the Renaissance Hotel you would not be able to tell that the fabulous and colourfully dressed group typically spends their days in flooded basements, dealing with sewer back-ups, cleaning houses covered in soot or mould, or just about any property damage nightmare that can unfold in a house or building. They are the Paul Davis Systems (PDS) network–restoration specialists.

May 31st was the Annual General Meeting, where business was discussed, processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness were shared, and ideas of how to continue being innovative were voiced. The morning of June 1st was a day of learning from the experts at head office to vendors of specialized equipment and programs. The evening though was dedicated to fun and celebration. That night, the network that reaches coast to coast, could be found in one beautifully decorated room. It was the annual Paul Davis Systems Awards Ceremony. This year’s theme was the Peacock, a majestic creature that captures the spirit of PDS in terms of longevity, renewal, tradition, recognition and prosperity. The excitement in the air was undeniable and the synergy between the many Franchisees and Project Managers from all across Canada was magnetic. It was a night of great food, interesting stories, and a celebration of those in the network who have done exceptional work in 2012.

The Awards Ceremony focuses on sales mark achievements in a lifetime and calendar year. As well, there is a focus on the Net Promoter Score, a customer satisfaction program. Each award recipient was called up for their moment to shine on stage and to be handed their award by the President/CEO of the company Ken Robinson as the crowd applauded their achievement, understanding what it meant to reach those levels.

After the Awards the rest of the night was spent dancing and mingling. For some this is the once in a year event where they can catch up with old friends face to face, for others this is the chance to put a face to a name of someone they know well through email or phone calls, but for all, this night is the time to be with those who understand the struggles, appreciate the progress, and are genuinely happy for one another’s successes.

The Paul Davis Systems Annual Awards Ceremony is a night not soon to be forgotten.
