Quality Underwriting Services Ltd. (QUS) Announces New President and CEO

RICHMOND HILL, ON – Quality Underwriting Services Ltd. (QUS) and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce the appointment of Larry Gatien to the position of President and CEO effective February 1, 2014.

Larry has served as Managing Director of the Company since engineering its ownership restructuring in the spring of 2012.   Larry, who earned a CGA designation in 1983 (retired), has over 35 years of Canadian business experience and has spent the last 20 years serving as General Manager/CEO of businesses in various sectors including home health care, retail, manufacturing and technology.

Since joining the Board of Quality Underwriting Services Ltd., Larry has been extremely active and hands-on in repositioning the company’s marketing, training and technology strategies. During that time, the company purchased back all rights to its Ontario field operations and hired Nancy Kent as Regional Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, Ontario.  QUS has also made significant investments to improve and enhance information technology infrastructure, redundancy and security.

Gatien indicated, “Quality Underwriting Services has undergone some significant changes over the past two years that will improve the way we do business with our clients.  We are passionate about the paramedical business and have restructured the company to position us to respond to the evolution of our industry and continued strong growth across Canada.”

Also being announced today is Greg Shinton’s retirement from QUS.  Greg is retiring after 15 years with the Company and most recently as President. Greg’s long-standing commitment to the Company, its employees, health professionals, branch owners and advisors is well recognized in the Canadian insurance industry.   We thank Greg for his efforts on behalf of everyone in the Company, and wish him all the best in his retirement.
