RSA’s partnership with the ROM’s Mesopotamia exhibition draws a parallel between RSA’s 300 year heritage and the past 3,000 years of civilization following the Mesopotamian era, during which many advancements were made that would become the basis of insurance. The exclusive exhibition, on loan from the British Museum, specifically highlights the emergence of business, trade and finance, long distance trade networks and the world’s first cities, social organization and economic exchanges, among other hallmarks of modern society. “RSA Insurance is proud to partner with the ROM as the exhibition’s presenting sponsor to make Mesopotamia accessible to all in this one-of-a-kind exhibition for Canada and North America,” says Rowan Saunders, President & CEO, RSA. “As a global insurance organization with a proud heritage insuring progress around the world for over 300 years, we’re incredibly excited to be working alongside the ROM to bring to life these amazing artifacts and we are confident this exhibition will prove to be a fascinating adventure for all.” As a worldwide insurer since 1710, RSA has insured historical figures and landmark events including Charles Darwin, Captain Cook, the world’s first wind farms and the 2012 London Olympics. RSA’s alignment with Mesopotamia highlights the role of these milestones in driving our society forward, and underlines the important role of insurance products and services that allow such innovation and progress to continue. “At RSA we often say that we ‘insure progress.’ This is a really important part of how we view our role in people’s lives, and their livelihoods,” says Tony Hayes, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, RSA. “We know how important it is recognize the past to plan for what’s to come – whether re-building the present or protecting our future.” RSA’s broker partners will be able to visit the exhibition at a discounted rate, which can be obtained by contacting their RSA Business Development Managers.
