ServiceMaster Helps Restore Hope in the Lives of Children

As part of the ongoing efforts to support charity and their community, ServiceMaster Restore of London participated in the Make-A-Wish® Rope for Hope event on June 19, 2015. This unique challenge calls on participants to raise money in exchange for a once-in-a-lifetime experience to rappel down the edge of a high profile building. All funds raised from this special event go to granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Peter Hall, owner of ServiceMaster Restore of London and two members of his team, Tara Muirhead andFinn Osinchuk took the “first step” and completed the rappel down the 26 storey City Centre Tower in London for the Make-A-Wish® Rope for Hope. “This was awesome” said Hall. “We are very proud to be able to participate in such a worthy cause. It is special to see the participants, volunteers and community all get involved to support a program that gives back so much.”

More than just a thrill-seeking good time, Lori Quick, CEO of Make-A-Wish Southwestern Ontario explained what she believes Rope for Hope is really all about. “I think it’s just a really good symbol of our kids and their fight,” she said. “They’re so courageous everyday and it’s not their choice, they’re fighting for their lives. For us to do something that’s a little out of our comfort zone is an easy way to honour our Wish kids who battle life-threatening medical conditions every day.”

In addition to the $7,200 of pledges raised by the ServiceMaster Restore team, ServiceMaster Restore of London was the Gold Sponsor of the event, presenting Make-A-Wish with a cheque for $10,000. The London challenge was a huge success raising over $118,000 in support of the charity.
