Team STRONE-Itech ready to Ride for Heart on June 2nd

The countdown is on as Team STRONE-Itech prepares for the Becel Ride for Heart on June 2nd.  Enthusiasm is high as riders are training in their own communities, readying themselves for selected courses up to 75 km in length.  The ride came highly recommended by friends in the industry, so team members are hoping for amazing weather and a thrilling experience on the streets of Toronto.

“We’ve decided to get involved with Ride for Heart for many reasons,” comments Team STRONE-Itech Captain Adriana Kop.  “Our fundraising efforts will contribute to the many programs and research to eliminate Heart disease that affects so many people of all ages. Some of us have personal reasons to join, whether it’s to honour loved ones or to simply lead by example.”

The ride is an annual fundraiser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, welcoming over 13,000 cyclists in Canada’s largest charity cycling event.  Riders take advantage of the opportunity to ride vehicle-free along the Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway.

“Our team has experienced cyclists but also people who went out there, started training and now have the cycling bug,” states Kop.  “I’m really proud of my team members who went from not cycling at all to going out every day to train. That’s amazing.”

Team STRONE-Itech is currently comprised of 10 riders, coming from Kitchener-Waterloo, Brantford, GTA, Oakville, Ottawa, and even Thunder Bay.  Fundraising efforts are in full force and the team can use your help.  Check out the STRONE-Itech Team Page for Ride for Heart 2013 and help make a difference – http://bit.ly/10ejMtL.
