Insurance On Demand allows customers to manage their insurance online, including home, auto, condo and tenant policies directly through brokers’ websites. “Giving brokers the ability to offer internet-based self-service functionality to customers demonstrates our commitment to our broker partners,” said Jorge Arruda, TEIG’s senior vice president of operations. “More and more customers demand choice in how and when they transact business. This powerful tool combines the convenience of the web with the traditional confidence that customers gain by working with a broker.” “We recognize that competing with direct insurers in the online space can be a significant financial challenge for many of our broker partners,” said Colin Smith, TEIG’s senior vice president and chief information officer. “TEIG is investing in this enabling business technology to strengthen the value proposition of our independent brokers. We are not prepared to sacrifice this space.” To date, seven brokers have piloted Insurance on Demand, resulting in increased sales for those brokers. “Insurance on Demand was developed with the direct input from the broker pilot team, achieving very successful results,” said Rob Gow, TEIG vice president for the western region. “Leveraging this experience, we are confident that our participating brokers across Canada can achieve the same success.” TEIG will be implementing Insurance on Demand across Canada through the remainder of 2010 and into 2011. As part of the rollout, TEIG plans to further support its brokers’ online success by facilitating a series of workshops on business-enhancing web techniques including Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Website Optimization (WSO) and Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC).
