Three Appointed At Elliott Special Risks

Elliott Special Risks, the specialist insurer, has appointed Clive Fernandes as vice president of the central region, Tony Picciano as vice president of the eastern region and Marisa Chau as underwriter to the central region EIL team.

Clive Fernandes has been appointed as the regional leader in Toronto to lead the underwriting teams and will be responsible for all lines of business within the central region. As part of his role, Clive will also be the product line manager for general liability. Clive joins from Travelers Canada, where he was vice president of mid markets business insurance. Prior to this, Clive held leadership roles with ACE as assistant vice president of International Advantage and has also worked as a broker with Integro Insurance Brokers and Aon Reed Stenhouse.

Tony Picciano has been appointed to vice president of the eastern region to manage and lead the underwriting teams in Montreal and will be responsible for all lines of business within the region. Tony moves to Markel from Zurich Canada where he held the position of vice president Eastern Canada and branch manager of the Montreal office since 2012. Prior to this, Tony held leadership roles with ACE and also worked for AIG Montreal in underwriting and claims management roles.

Marisa Chau will be joining the central region EIL team as an underwriter. Marisa joins ESR from Travelers where she held the position of account executive of business insurance since 2013. Prior to this, Marisa worked with Chubb Insurance in various roles including senior underwriting associate, broker unit coordinator and commercial underwriting assistant.
