Intact Insurance creates national team to grow commercial specialty solutions

Intact Insurance announced on Monday that it has created a new national team dedicated to growing its commercial lines specialty solutions business, which will “accelerate its plans to become the Canadian leader in specialty lines and surety.”

To support this growth, Intact Insurance will be hiring about 150 insurance professionals across Canada over the next few years to add to its current team of experts, Intact Financial Corporation said in a press release. The company also recently appointed Joe D’Annunzio as senior vice president, Specialty Solutions and Surety, to lead the team. D’Annunzio (pictured below left) was previously Intact Insurance’s regional vice president for the Mississauga, Ont. region.

“Our vision is to become a market leader and be widely recognized as the top provider of specialty insurance products and expertise,” said Jean-Francois Blais, Intact Insurance president, in the release. “Our national scale, combined with our comprehensive suite of solutions, will provide brokers with the expertise and support they need to help them meet the changing needs of their customers. In addition, our regional presence means we can be as local as brokers, which means they can depend on us to deliver both a broker and customer experience that is second to none.”

Intact Insurance is Canada’s largest home, auto and business insurance company, with more than four million customers. It offers a wide breath of products in specialty solutions, including niche, standalone equipment breakdown, programs, errors and omissions, directors’ and officers’ liability, marine, farm, long-haul trucking and other specialized classes of commercial auto, as well as surety bonds. Combined, these products represent about $600 million in direct premiums written, the release said.
